Fast drying conformal coatings
The 1-pack conformal coatings of the series Elpeguard SL 1307 FLZ are particularly yellowing resistant conformal coatings for assembled printed circuit boards based on polyacrylic resins. Due to the special solvent formulation these conformal coatings are distinguished by a very fast drying. A major advantage of these purely physically drying systems is that for repair purposes the cured ink film can not only be soldered through at soldering iron temperature but can also be removed by means of the product-specific thinner. The colourless fluorescent adjustments of this series are approved as Permanent Coatings by Underwriters Laboratories per UL 94 and meet all requirements of IPC-CC-830B “Qualification and Performance of Electrical Insulating Compound for Printed Wiring Assemblies”. Filled in spray cans, conformal coating SL 1307 FLZ-S is always to hand for service and repair work and for the fast coating of pilot and low-volume series.

With the low viscosity thick film lacquers of the series Twin-Cure DSL 1600 E-FLZ Lackwerke Peters have succeeded in presenting a solution for the protection of valuable electronics which is optimised from technical, ecological and economical aspects. Technically this product offers excellent corrosion protection – superior performance when exposed to mechanical, chemical and climatic stress as well as extreme temperature changes. It equally fulfils the requirements of UL 94 and IPC-CC-830B.
Ecologically this solvent-free 1-pack system makes its contribution with a drastic reduction in the VOC emissions in terms of the EU End-of-Life Vehicle directive 2000/53/EC and WEEE directive 2002/96/EC in the finished product. Twin-Cure is economical due to the short processing times. Function testing and packaging are possible shortly after UV curing, while the supplementary, progressive chemical cross-linking process in shaded areas, for example under components, by means of a reaction with the atmospheric humidity optimises the properties. Moreover, thin protective coats of around 80 µm can be realised with the low viscosity adjustments that offer all the advantages of a thick film lacquer while using much less material.
