OK International’s new MFR-2200 series soldering and rework system delivers a high power, flexible solution for production hand soldering, touch-up and SMD rework. Incorporating the renowned response and control of SmartHeat technology, the system incorporates the ability to operate one or two different handpieces at the same time.
“The MFR 2200 provides significant new capability to manufacturers looking for both power and flexibility,” explains Jay Boyd, Global Product Manager, OK International. “The operation of one or two hand-pieces is enabled by the simple flip of a switch. “In addition, SmartHeat technology assures extremely responsive and highly controlled heating because it uniquely responds to the thermal load demand and delivers only the energy needed to complete each connection.”
Supporting the simultaneous dual port operation are three different handpieces and a comprehensive range of soldering and rework cartridges, similar to the company’s popular Metcal range, and tips. These include a cartridge handpiece with a variety of fine access and SMD rework tips, a high power soldering tip handpiece designed especially for volume production environments, and also a precision tweezer handpiece capable of removing a range of components from 0201 chips to 28 mm SOICs.
