ASM has announced a new generation of its DEK TQ solder paste printer which it says presents the ideal combination of high-end quality and flexible automation. The company says the printer has a wet-print accuracy of ±17.5 microns @ 2 Cpk and core cycle time of as little as 5 seconds. It includes new features such as Smart Pin Placement and DEK All Purpose Clamping which allow users to advance their factory’s degree of automation in accordance with their needs.
It was designed for operator-less runtimes of eight hours or more and has open interfaces to ensure its quick and easy integration into the integrated smart factory.
“The DEK TQ is the solder paste printer of choice for companies that want to automate their SMT production because it allows them to select the degree of automation in accordance with their individual requirements,” the company said. “To minimize manual assists, [it] features an optional automatic paste management system with integrated paste application and paste height control. In addition, the optional dual-access cover makes it possible to switch out paste cartridges without having to interrupt the machine’s operation. Both options pay for themselves after only a few months compared to manual operation.”
