Advantest Europe opens R&D department in Munich
Advantest (Europe) GmbH has established an R&D department based at its headquarters in Munich. The main focus of the R&D Department is the development of test instrument modules for T 2000 targeting mixed signal SOC devices.

Jens Edelmann, the new Department Manager R&D, joined Advantest in July 2008 and is currently forming and developing an R&D group that shall include more than 10 R&D engineers before the end of 2008. Edelmann holds a degree in electronics (Dipl. Ing., FH) at the University of Applied Sciences in Munich in 1993. In his function as Department Manager R&D Edelmann reports directly to Josef Schraetzenstaller, Managing Director of Advantest (Europe).
“We are pleased that we have been able to win Mister Edelmann and a good portion of a very experienced R&D group with ATE background, says Schraetzenstaller. In contrast to many competitors, Advantest is investing in research and development close to the European semiconductor manufacturers and fabless companies.
The recent acquisition of Credence Systems GmbH, together with the newly established R&D Department in Munich strengthens the market presence and will further improve customer relationship and business.
