The Feinfocus direct digital detector (DDD) imaging is implemented in the popular Fox X-ray system series. The 16-bit imaging subsystem provides brilliant digital images with high contrast, capturing high-res images in real-time. This allows viewing of the slightest grey-scale differences for enhanced defect detection in even the lowest kV applications. The DDD features an X-ray detector with three image acquisition modes for maximum flexibility, automatic noise level reduction for sharp image quality, and a large, ultra-high resolution flat-panel monitor for viewing (images of up to 1,888 x 1,408 pixels are possible). The programmable system is integrated into the graphical user interface, allowing saving of JPG, TIF, or BMP formats. The Fox system was the first nanofocus X-ray inspection system in the industry, providing XY feature recognition of 300 nm (0.3 µm), geometric magnification up to 2400 x, and the smallest focal spot size in the industry (less than 1 µm). These is combined with a 5-axis manipulator with extremely precise measurement and high speed repositioning. The DDD feature is an upgrade opportunity, and can be integrated into various systems and any X-ray tube assembly.
