Feinfocus/Comet introduced the HDX-ray 16-bit imaging chain for the complete series of the Fox X-ray inspection systems. The instrument captures high-resolution images with film-like quality, even in real-time, providing an enhanced solution for defect detection. HDX-ray reportedly provides the sharpest digital images available for inspection of applications requiring high magnifications, such as MEMS/MOEMS, semiconductor packages, high-density interconnects, hybrids and encapsulants. The 2.6-Mpixel imaging features more than 65,000 grey scales with freely selectable frame rates from 1 to 30 fps, allowing for precise imaging of low-contrast, low-density as well as high-contrast, high-density structures and materials at the same time. Powered by a user-friendly graphical user interface, HDX-ray represents the next step of inspection analysis tools required by demanding manufacturing processes. HDX-ray is available on all FOX systems, or as an upgrade to existing systems. The Fox series was the first nanofocus X-ray inspection system in the industry, providing XY-feature recognition of 300nm (0.3µm) and the smallest focal spot size in the industry (less than 1µm).
