DEK has added large 29 x 29-in (740 x 740mm) foils to its range of VectorGuard stencil frame concept, allowing customers to reduce changeover time and ease stencil handling and storage challenges in applications requiring a large image area. Large format foils are currently available in popular thicknesses, including 0.005-in (0.127mm) and 0.006-in (0.152mm). All of DEK’s global stencil manufacturing sites are equipped to laser-cut the large foils from blanks manufactured in Germany, and are able to offer equivalent delivery times to existing stencils. Customers can also use the frameless system in machines that do not have an adjustable chase, including non-DEK machines, or where they prefer not to use side bar extensions. The VectorGuard system is easy to adopt. A user only needs to invest in the frame, which comes complete with a footpedal to control the air supply during mounting, and the foils themselves. The extruded aluminum edges and plastic corners add rigidity and streamline frame mounting and tensioning, making larger foils feasible.
