Mydata of Sweden and Visual Components/Finland teamed up to create a simulation tool that’s apparently unique in the SMT industry. 3DRealize is a simulation software that enables users to view three-dimensional line configurations with a range of surface-mount equipment. Customers can use the software to easily plan production lines specially tailored to meet their plant dimensions, in-line conveyor needs and more. They do not have to purchase any software to view the 3D simulations on their computers. Instead, they use the free 3DVideo viewer, available on CD or simply from the website. It’s easy to receive a simulation via email, since the 3D file (vcm) is extremely compact. Where traditional CAD and 3D specifications can take up MB of space, vcm-files are approximately 50kB. Users can also export the 2D illustrations in other formats. The software modules automatically recognize each other and snap together to complete potential layouts. This way, the user can quickly see a line that suits their needs and facility specifications.
