The requirements for the verification of control units in cars require a test system which is specifically designed for this application, covering the full spectrum of performance and upgradeable to upcoming tasks. The Spea 3030 Automotive is designed for this purpose which is characterized through large volumes and short cycle times, since those assembly lines operate with multiple printed board panels. The system is equipped with all interfaces that are typical for this application, such as Can-Bus, Car-Bus or Lin-Bus. Power supplies for 12 and 24V are standard, allowing testing of two assemblies simultaneously (parallel test) which reduces the test time remarkably. Import of CAD data is optimized through the Leonardo system software. It recognizes automatically the data format and imports the information; special CAD knowledge is not required for the subsequent preparation. The software comprises of program generation, debugging and test execution, and object-oriented graphical user interface eases the users’ tasks. In addition, it provides the use of popular programming languages, such as NI Labview, to integrate directly functional routines.
