The KIC 24/7 continuous thermal process monitoring and traceability system has for some time been engaged to the Navigator process development and optimization software, also called “oven recipe search engine”. With the knowledge that process control without proper process development is useless, both tools have tied the knot: the KIC 24/7 now ships standard with Navigator. Prior to commencement of production, the Navigator will select the oven recipe that positions the thermal process towards the center of the process window. This ensures the most stable process while accommodating more of the normal drift that exists in any process. The Navigator avoids the unwelcome frequent alarm syndrome caused by a poorly developed initial process teetering on the edge of the process window. Instead, the KIC 24/7 will operate at an optimal level to, in real-time, warn an out-of-control process and on an out-of-spec situation. This will be done while logging complete thermal process data for each individual part for process traceability on demand.
