The LPKF ProtoPlace semi-automated entry pick&place system has been designed with the principles of ergonomic requirements, offering fine-adjustable settings. It places fine-pitch components, for example QFPs with 0.5mm and 0.4mm (16mil) pitch with up to 300 pins, as well as 0402-components. The machine also supports dispensing operations. The placer fits in environments for assembly of prototype boards as well as small-production batches. A motorized drive accelerates the picking of components from the turntable, but they can also be picked from exchangeable feeders. A fine-adjustable table with the possibility of locking the manipulator in XY-directions helps to place complex parts. Highly demanding components can be placed automatically by locking the Z-axis and pneumatically placing, thus eliminating possible human errors.
