For advances in screen-printing, DEK has produced wire-mesh screens so thin they can facilitate printing down to 25 microns, offering customers the opportunity to print in minute detail. Compared with 100 to 150 micron features, the normal standard, the ultra thin, high strength, wire mesh, now reportedly offers unsurpassed screen technology. Fine detail results can now be realized. Previously, printing relatively fine lines wasn’t a problem. However, keeping the necessary gap between these lines small enough to reproduce 25-micron detail was. Another emulsion technology, combined with the ultra-thin mesh, enables to print those fine features. With mesh openings of 65 microns and a wire diameter of 20 microns, the solution has an open structure yet surprisingly strong. 60% of its surface allows the ink to pass through very easily, and the fineness of the mesh means the wire doesn’t interfere with the passage of ink.
