Remote diagnostics service reduces costs

Speedline Technologies has introduced its diagnostics service RemoteTech, allowing support center experts to diagnose and solve customer’s equipment and application problems. This service enables customers to tap into a vast process expertise from anywhere, 24 hours a day, seven days a week. This capability is an extension of the company’s commitment to maximizing production uptime, improving productivity and reducing cost of ownership. With the diagnostics utility, customers receive improved troubleshooting and problem solving over the Internet and telephone, to minimize field service visits, cut mean time to repair, lower maintenance costs and reduce staff training. The secure service allows Speedline to access equipment-recipe files and error logs and facilitates the uploading of software upgrades directly to the customer’s machine. RemoteTech is firewall friendly. The customer is the gate keeper and is always in control. Speedline cannot pull or push data to their equipment without permission. This service is available for most of Speedline’s current systems. The user equipment must have ethernet card or modem, be connected to the internet, and utilize the Windows OS. The assistance will be offered free of charge during the warranty period and will be included as standard in Speedline’s Protection Plus service contract. It also can be purchased on a per-machine basis.
