Cookson Electronics‘ Electrovert OmniExcel is a 10-zone, lead-free capable reflow oven designed to optimize operating efficiencies, reduce maintenance intervals and lower life-cycle costs. Efficiency has been gained through enhancements, such as closed-loop blower control, and an advanced chamber design for balanced airflow with minimal turbulence, to improve heat transfer and substantially reduce power and N2 consumption. The OmniExcel consumes up to 50 % less power and up to 30 to 35 % less nitrogen. In addition, through the self-cleaning flux-extraction system a dramatic drop in maintenance intervals from a typical weekly schedule to once per month was observed. The patent pending flux-extraction mechanism consists of four multi-stage collection units located within the heating sections, to continuously scrub process gas for unwanted particulates. The reflow/curing oven is suited for high throughput environments, while providing the flexibility required for varying demands. It offers a process width of 24-in (610 mm), with a heated length of 148-in (3810 mm) and a cooling length of 50-in (1285 mm).
