Off-line programming of placement feeders

Applications
Off-line programming of placement feeders

The Dima off-line programming station provides the possibility of preparing the next production run on the Hybrid pick & place systems without interfering with the current production run, reportedly reducing changeover times to only a few minutes. The Dima feeders contain information about its components, the amounts of parts, the alarm level and the pick-up position. This data can be entered into the feeder using the programming unit. After a feeder has been programmed, it can be directly inserted into any Hybrid machine. This can be done during production without interrupting the placement process. The programming station together with the feeders therefore provides the option to already prepare the next job while the equipment still places parts. Feeders can be added or taken out without stopping. The only step still needed after a previous job is done is selecting a program file and possibly adjusting the conveyor width before starting the next production run. The off-line programming station comes with a feeder insert mechanism similar to the slots on the placer, to be placed on any desk. Tape feeders of all widths and the vibration cassettes can be programmed. The system is supplied with PC, programming software, frame-grabber card, monitor and camera with stand.
