IPTE’s BAT FlexMounter is based on the proven odd-form assembler SpeedMounter, and features a novel assembly head providing extremely high application flexibility. This head can be used to automatically assemble almost every odd-form part. In a customer installation two cells of the BAT FlexMounter type alternately assemble 30 different board types. The product changeover is provided by software support with a minimum set-up effort. The equipment receives a total of 30 different odd-form components by 25 feeder systems and a tray loader. Twelve of these feeders provide components from sticks, nine feeders handle axial parts, and four feeders offer radial parts to the assembly machines. The tray loader gets four dissimilar transformer types that are supplied on pallets. Every module of this solution is delivered from one source, care- fully and expertly integrated with existing production equipment. The high reliability delivers mechanical availability of the feeder modules of more than 99%. The modular design of the SpeedMounter allows realization of customer demands requiring quick and efficient product changeovers, keeping the set-up efforts at a minimum. Product changeovers are made quick and comfortable by appropriate software support.
