New product innovations in the field of X-Ray inspection
Macrotron Scientific Engineering GmbH (MSE) has presented its new product portfolio for SMT X-ray inspection. New product line MSX, which replaces the previous MXR series, offers a product spectrum to the customer that covers the whole range of X-ray inspection. Automated system MSX 2000 A is a fully automated inspection system with automated test program generation and inspection. Fully automated load and unload capacity are available as options.

A new release of the established MSE software has also been launched called MSX Image. This software allows a complete calibration of the X-ray system even for cases of off-axis inspection and enhanced image processing. The MSX 3000 series is described as a world-innovation. Besides a 2D transmission and 2D off-axis mode, the systems allow real 3D inspection, so-called laminography. Using this method, a real 3D reconstruction is performed that delivers a complete set of slices through the tested object – possible for the first time in common production cycle times. Furthermore, the image quality of those slices is so excellent that a depth of testing can be reached which has never before been achieved. With the consequent new development of the MSX series as well as the new developments in the area of non-destructive testing, MSE aims to become one of the leading providers of X-ray technology in the world.
