Laser-marking solutions for all application areas
With the introduction of two new work cells, IPTE is strengthening its foothold in the area of laser-marking systems, and has now become a key supplier with a full portfolio of equipment for all application areas in electronics manufacturing.

By providing new systems EasyMarker and SpeedMarker, as well as existing FlexMarker, three variants are now available; each can be equipped with a CO2 (gas) or a YaG (solid state) laser unit. They are designed to fulfill the requirements found on modern electronic shop floors, while operating reliably and with the highest precision. Featuring differently sized marking regions, they can be applied with optimum flexibility and efficiency according to customers’ demands. All laser-work cells can easily be adapted to very specific process requirements.
All three marker systems are based on the proven modular work-cell concept of the company and can be used for both in-line as well as stand-alone configurations. A Smema interface is available to all machines for in-line application. For stand-alone operation, independently running cell configurations can be put together by the addition of loading and unloading units or other transport modules. The markers systems feature a small footprint and allow easy access to all parts and areas of the machines, as well as easy machine handling and service actions.
Reportedly, the SpeedMarker is one of the fastest laser-markers in the market place, boasting a large working area for markings measuring 300 x 300 mm. Using a stationary laser unit allows for a higher process speed of about 35 %, compared to the conventional, moving laser systems with servo motor.
The laser unit is optimized by Optronics and offers a remarkably small spot size of only 100 µm despite its large working area. Using this small laser spot, 2D label codes consisting of up to 16 alphanumeric characters can be written on small marking areas of 2 x 2 mm only.
The EasyMarker system is designed for smaller work pieces, and it is also a highly economical solution, featuring just a minor footprint. Similar to the SpeedMarker, the working area is integrated into the transport system in favor of short process cycles. It is intended for conveying PCBs or work-piece holders. An additional stopper mechanism can be used for multi-marking purposes.
The performance of the FlexMarker lies between the SpeedMarker and the EasyMarker. It allows the processing of larger work pieces, and is also the most flexible system in the laser-marker portfolio.
