National Instruments’ Measurement Studio instrument driver, .NET Wizard, instantly converts VXIplug&play, IVI or legacy drivers to native MS Visual C# .NET or Visual Basic .NET codes, protecting time and money invested in existing software. Because few instrument drivers today are provided in native MS language code, users must either spend extensive amounts of time rewriting drivers for compliance, or struggle with integrating inflexible, non-native code. The tool instantly converts driver functions into .NET framework methods, so engineers can configure and communicate with instruments in seconds, saving weeks or months of time. Users moving to MS Visual Studio .NET 2003 need the option to access their measurement hardware without rewriting their existing drivers. The tool offers flexibility by generating source code, giving users the freedom to easily modify the resulting drivers. Users can add these drivers as public class, private class or .NET framework assembly. They also can locate an existing driver at the NI instrument driver network (www.ni.com/idnet and then use the tool to generate what they need.
