Innovation in combination with proven technologies
On the SMT 2009 IBL introduced its new machine design based upon the proven premium series. In the thoroughly new developed product family numerous ideas and concepts from the customer base were considered. As a next step IBL showed the new premium inline series on the Productronica 2009. As a consecutive result the new VAC system is officially introduced in Europe on the SMT 2010 after it was first shown to the public on the Apex show in April 2010 in Las Vegas. This system rounds up the premium product family.

Apart from the new exterior design in the IBL colours white and blue, also the system control was continuously improved. Main focus was a constantly optimum soldering result in combination with maximum flexibility in the process set up. The growing demand in power electronics in SMD technology increases the demand of void-free solder joints. The vapor phase technology is a proven and reliable tool that meets these criteria in combination with a temperature sensitive process.

IBL developed together with the Fraunhofer Institute the patented In-Vapour vacuum technology. This process provides a constant protective atmosphere also between the soldering and the evacuation process. In addition no additional heat-up of the vapour chamber is required, as there is no temperature drop in between the different steps. This results in a low thermal stress overall procedure and is a unique feature with proven benefits in terms of quality and reliability of the processed components.
Easily understandable operation concept
The patented Soft Vapour Temperature Control (SVTC) allows the operator to set up precise temperature profiles in the soldering process. In combination with the Syncro Mode the machine is adjusted automatically to the thermal requirements on the processed solder joints and ensures optimum repeatability. This clearly defined process control supports an increased product quality and avoids time and resource consuming rework.
All vacuum vapour phase soldering systems can alternatively be operated with conventional heat level set up modes as well. This setup is due to the simplicity and the relatively high spread in the market still in use with numerous customers. Also this technology originally was first developed and introduced in 1992 by IBL.
For small scale up to inline series production
Die new vacuum vapour phase soldering system VAC645 and VAC665 can be operated in single as well as in series production and can be upgraded with an inline module for a fully automated integration into a production line. The patented „Cool Handling” Inline technology of IBL requires only low maintenance and proves due to the absence of temperature variations maximum reliability. An alternating operation with and without vacuum can be done without losing setup time, thus allowing the operator to provide individual soldering profiles for each production lot.
The IBL vapour phase soldering technology provides a future oriented solution for today´s soldering tasks. In combination with the vacuum technology this systematic is an ideal way in meeting maximum quality requirements.
