The Agilent Medalist i5000 in-circuit tester (ICT) reportedly delivers the fastest time-to-money ratio for circuit board assemblers through software and tester-per-pin architecture. The system provides broad functionality in modular, scalable configurations, allowing a high degree of operational flexibility. The company claims that the operating system greatly reduces test program and fixture development time compared with traditional ICT systems; and the Medalist i5000 reduces typical bits-to-production cycle time to five to seven days for a medium-complexity board, rather than the nine or ten days. The 1:1-ratio of hybrid channel-to-node (non-multiplexed) and tester-per-pin allows test designers to assign resources without regard to resource location, so fixtures can be built in parallel with test development. The system is said to easy to be operate and deploy. Also, the test development software provides users with a solution that accelerates test and fixture design while simplifying engineering change orders (ECOs) on the shop floor. All tests are claimed to be transportable, stable and repeatable and can be moved from tester to tester.
