With the Polar RITS520a, average test time is under 0.8 s – which is much faster than with a fixture-based impedance tester. Like the other members of the RITS series, the flying probe 520a is based on time-domain reflectometer technology. The instrument includes high-precision reference airlines according to NPL and NIST standards. Self-calibration is built in to verify accuracy at the probe tip. The 520a tests large boards of up to 22 x 24-in – big enough for a great number of test coupons at a time. Multiple heads accelerate the operation. As a consequence, handling time is reduced, thereby increasing productivity. The RITS 520a is operated like the preceding models. It accepts CAD input or is being taught the XY test point locations manually by the operator.
