The Martin benchtop-stations Clever-Dispens-04/05 reportedly set a milestone in precision and consistency with super fast valves and clever control firmware. With this elaborate technology and the company’s drive for simple operating and little need for cleaning of the dispensing head, the stations can be used more effectively. In connection with Class 6 solder paste, microdots down to a diameter of 0.15mm can be generated. At the center for high precision stands the Advanced-Time-Pressure method, also supported by highly accurate temperature measurements. It serves for automatic calculation and control of pressure pulses to ensure highly constant dispense volumes. As the size of dots reduces, the more stringent are the demands on the equipment. Solder paste is dispensed without separating. Rapid re-activation after interruptions: after just a few test shots, high precision is re-established without the need for cleaning or cartridge changes. Adhesives can be used without problems. The patented dispense-head heating prevents ‘stringing’. Cartridge fill levels are automatically determined by the pressure built-up response and the required snuff-back vacuum applied. Helpful options are available, for example, a height sensor, ensuring that warped boards can be processed easily or a cooling module that can chill the medium by 10K. The dispensers do not have any spindles or chambers cleaned. Cartridges can be replaced in seconds; blocked nozzles are rapidly flushed through with cleaning spray.
