Teradyne Assembly Test Division’s XFrame is a graphical user interface and programming environment for its family of automated XStation X-ray inspection (AXI) systems that significantly reduces program-generation time by almost 65 %, and improves consistency and quality of programs. Reportedly, the programming environment automates all work, so an initial program can be developed and ready for debug in one hour. The framework employs an Oracle database and CAD-extracted files to generate programs. Software “wizards” guide the program development. Programs are automatically transferred to the XStation, where the application configuration file is edited. After an inspection cycle, XFrame retrieves the data, images and/or tags and allows the user to tune the parameters using a machine simulator and graphical editing tool, and then automatically generates a rules file based on the data from the image.
