Auer-boat semiconductor print processed by standard equipment
Speedline has included Auer Boat print-processing capabilities on two of the company’s stencil printers, the MPM AccuFlex and MPM AP Excel systems. The AccuFlex stencil printer is ideally suited for moderate volume, high-mix, cost-effective printing. Combining accuracy and high flexibility in a compact footprint, the printer provides what is needed for efficient and precise working, while offering a range of expansion options. The system is designed for production of about 8,000 boards per week, with two or more product changeovers per shift. The AP Excel printer embodies the characteristics of speed, reliability, and accuracy. Its impressive throughput, uptime, and functionality are ideal for demanding, high-volume printing applications. Its standard minimum base cycle time of 6 seconds is reportedly the industry’s best. For years, semiconductor manufacturers have been searching for the ability to print components located in an Auer boat in a single pass with tight process requirements. Previously, these fine pitch substrates had to be printed in a singulated format because a proper handling system did not exist. However, with improved fixturing and easy-change tooling, this issue has been solved. The improved approach allows users to achieve the high yield and throughput performance required for semiconductor substrates. Both printers provide accurate and reliable platforms for this application.
