3D X-ray system put on the bench
The compact CT Mini of ProCon X-Ray is a 3D bench-top system for inspection on-line reconstruction procedures on the shop floor. One of the foremost design goals was ease of use, even when all machine features are involved. After installation, only a day operator´s training is required to run the system properly. There is only one screen to concentrate on, and all operations are to be done by mouse or touch-panel. The five-micron tube and the 1 k x 1 k flat-panel detector with high gray-level resolution open a wide area of applications. 3D analysis of packaged components is one of the most important fields of operation. Stacked dies and package voids can be clearly analyzed because of the high dynamic range of the panel detector. Measurements of bond-wire sweep and loop can be performed as process control after molding. The reconstruction software (from partner Fraunhofer X-ray development cen-ter) is said to deliver the fastest 3D operation on the market. The software is capable of beginning reconstructing already after the first image and finishes together with the last one. This saves plenty of time working. A solid mechanical design and a software routine allow for automated alignment. Cost of ownership is drastically reduced: just a common 250 V mains is needed, and the sealed tube is maintenance-free.
