Organisers have announced a change to entry requirements for the productronica 2021 and SEMICON 2021 trade fairs, scheduled to take place on 16–19 November, as a result of the rising number of Covid-19 cases in Bavaria. As per restrictions (known as the 2G rule) brought in by the Bavarian state government on 9 November, visitors will need to provide proof when registering that they have either been vaccinated or have recovered from a Covid-19 infection (within the last 180 days) in order to attend the fair. Proof of a negative PCR test alone is no longer sufficient for entry. Visitors will also need to register their contact details and wear an FFP2 mask at all times during the event.

Rules for exhibitors, service partners, stand construction contractors and media representatives, however, do permit the use of a negative PCR test (taken within the previous 48 hours) for entry.

Messe München has provided the following information about the changes:

Exhibitors and service partners

The following requirements apply to exhibitors, service partners, service providers, stand construction contractors and representatives of the media during the show:

In order to enter productronica & SEMICON Europa, the above participants will need to

  • register their contact details (first and last names, address, telephone number or email address),
  • digital proof that they have been fully vaccinated
