The next company buildingof Goepel Electronic/Germany will be erected near the current headquarters in Jena. Since 1994, when the first HQs were erected, the staff has tripled from 25 to about 80 employees, and annual turnover quadrupled from 4.8 to 20m DM (10m euro). As CEO Holger Göpel states, „We have built on the combination of Jena’s classical tradition – precision technology and optics – paired with highly innovative information technology and electronics,“ furthermore, he expects „increasing growth rates, and with that new building we want be prepared.“ Just recently, the company opened a second service and application office in the US, in the heart of Silicon Valley in San José. The company, which has its roots in the Robotron combine of former GDR, was founded in 1991, and has become a prominent supplier of boundary-scan solutions, AOI equipment and other tests systems. Global customer support is provided through an international distribution and service network, in which more than 250 specialists are involved.
