Fewer channels, lower entry level cost – Data Translation has expanded its range of TEMPpoint temperature measurement instruments by an entry level version with eight channels. Like all models of the range, the newcomer features a dedicated 24 bit A/D converter per channel. Four different variants are available: with USB or Ethernet port (including integrated web server) and with thermocouple or RTD inputs. The TEMPpoint range now comprises models with 8, 16, 24, 32, 40 or 48 channels. Where applications require even more channels, multiple TEMPpoint instruments can be combined as necessary. The instruments are available as desktop and 19” panel-mounted units. Designed for high-precision temperature, voltage or resistance measurements, they provide a 24-bit A/D converter and a CJC circuit for each channel. In addition, automatic calibration functions and 1000 V channel-to-channel isolation guarantee maximum accuracy and signal integrity. Sampling rates up to 10 Hz per channel are achieved.
Screw terminals allow quick and easy connection of all standard 2-, 3- and 4-wire RTD sensors (Platinum Pt100, Pt500, Pt1000), depending on the model. For thermocouples, the standard Omega Cu-Cu connectors are used. B, E, J, K, N, R, S and T standard thermocouples are linearized automatically. All versions also offer eight opto-isolated digital inputs and eight opto-isolated digital outputs, e.g. for driving relays directly.
The instruments ship ready-to-measure, including a web-based application for easy viewing, graphing, logging and analyzing the measurement data. Besides limit checking, external processes can be monitored and controlled, and the data can be exported to other applications such as Excel or MATLAB.
