Spin-off became leader in multi chip

The Infineon spin-off AEMtec claims to have become the market leader for the manufacture of multi-chip modules in Europe within the past four years. From its headquarters and production site in Berlin/Germany, the manufacturing service company offers a range of assembly and connection technologies for mixed-mode MCMs. In terms of core competence like micro-systems or optical technologies, the company sees its strength especially in the combination of SMD, BGA/CSP COB and FC applications on substrates such as PCB, film, ceramic, glass and wafer.

AEMtec provides its customers with a complete service portfolio – from consulting to delivery of tested modules. This way clients benefit from an enormous expertise. Its specialists can reportedly start working with the customer at the earliest stages of product development, and continue with the clients‘ engineers to design the best possible solution to a specific requirement. As sales & marketing manager Matthias Lorenz says, „Clients appreciate our consulting services combined with our manufacturing capabilities that range from layout services to prototyping for a fast market entry or pilot series production. In contrast to major global EMS companies, we don’t focus on mass production, but rather on know-how, consulting and speed – at highest quality standards”.
In its Berlin production facilities, AEMtec says that it goes beyond standards with design rules that the company has developed itself and that have been acknowledged by customers to deliver process stability, cost efficiency and high quality. The production sites are DIN ISO 9001:2000 certified, and a qualification according to ISO TS 16949 and ISO 14001 will shortly occur. The company was founded in 2000 and employs a staff of 120 in Germany.
