Universal recently presented two modules designed to extend its manufacturing automation software suite. The product introduction (DNPI) and equipment interface (DEI) software operate and integrate with existing products in the suite. This delivers a consistent user interface featuring common programming, optimization and monitoring tools across Universal SMT lines. DNPI software provides a single point of storage for line-independent recipes, as well as a database for components, feeders and nozzles. It also provides a centralized resource for rule data input and machine constraints. The DEI module presents a graphical user interface across all machines in a line. Each interface screen features similar architecture, navigation controls and graphic elements to reduce the operator training, and shorten the time to optimize efficiency.
