Soltec’s selective soldering system is highly flexible, fast and can reproducibly automate soldering in batch or in-line production. It offers modular set-up, allowing for easy and quick upgrades in the field, and its robust, flexible platform features a wide variety of modules that can be added and interchanged based on plug&play principle. The XY-robotic mechanism supports flexibility and high throughput via smart subsystem set-up. A grip system together with a programmable multi fluxer minimizes the need for customized tooling. Multiple preheat zones do not impact cycle times. Combined MultiWave and SelectWave soldering allows for balance be-tween high throughput and flexibility. The two soldering stations can be configured four different ways, reducing cycle time and providing high accuracy and flexibility. The Select-Wave is equipped with a single solder nozzle blanketed by a constant flow of nitrogen, to ensure a clean wave. Wave stability is controlled by an impeller design working in conjunction with a patented duct system. A shaft-sealed pump ensures low maintenance, high up-time and reliable operation. The unit can operate at temperatures up to 400°C. Solder height is measured and controlled.
