Ismeca’s LTM series of tray-scan machines combines advanced linear processing with vision technologies for a complete range of backend handling and inspection operations at very high speed within a compact footprint to conserve floor space. The equipment uses efficient multi-head pick & place technique to acquire components from JEDEC tray-based input formats. Specific capabilities include mark inspection, 2D/ 3D lead or ball inspection, sorting operations and output options toeither trays or tape & reel. Vision inspection allows for in-tray mark quality control. Subsequent machine operations leverage the efficiency of ”gang method” pick & place processing, with up to 8 vacuum heads that can pick several devices at the same time. The 3D vision is based on FMI(fast-moiré interferometry), and provides lead and ball array inspection. The LTM can be configured with dual tape & reel output modules to support sustained throughput, allowing one output module to always continue running while the other is being set-up or changed over.
