Price-cutting strategy for Europe-based users

National Instruments has lowered its prices by 19% on products, including data acquisition (DAQ), PXI and signal conditioning (SCXI), as a result of increased efficiency in its European operations,as well as product designs using higher performance, lower cost components. The company has also significantly reduced the price of its 16-bit data acquisition device, providing a cost savings of 42% to European-based customers. As a result, users in Europe can benefit from NI’s 16-bit multifunction data acquisition product line at a lower price than ever before. ”From establishing our first European office in 1987 to our recent manufacturing expansion in Hungary, our European business continues to play a growing role in the company’s success, accounting for approximately one third of our worldwide sales,” said Pete Zogas, senior VP of sales and marketing. ”We have worked hard to build our European service operations, and are pleased to pass our cost savings on to local customers as a result of our increased efficiencies and lower cost components.” National Instruments recently opened its first manufacturing plant outside the United States in Debrecen, Hungary, significantly improving the company’s European service operations. Through the rapid productivity gains of this plant and continued success of operations across Europe, NI is quickly meeting the growing needs of its global customers.
