With the validation of the Rohde & Schwarz TS8960, the first official RF test system for Bluetooth devices is now available. The system will retain this status even if the SIG changes the test specifications, since R&S is authorized to immediately adapt its system accordingly. Every manufacturer must submit its Bluetooth devices to qualification tests by a test house before they can put them on the market using the official logo. This measure is to ensure the interoperability of the Bluetooth standard across products and manufacturers. The worldwide adoption of the standard is thus strongly supported. The TS8960 runs all 16 test cases to verify the RF characteristics of a Bluetooth product in-line with the current test specification V0.91. The measurements are organized into transmitter, receiver and transceiver tests.
