The measurement of solder print deposit is a necessary practice in precision electronics production. A practical method for stencil-printed solder paste is available from the BritishNational Physical Laboratory (NPL), for assessing print quality, particularly for fine-pitch geometries. The software tool describes the print quality in terms of easy-to-measure parameters, such as paste volume, PVO (pseudo-virtual object) inflection angle and mean height.
