Dage has introduced digital image capture as an optional feature on its series 4000 multipurpose bondtester which can also be retrofitted. This option finds applications in both R&D and production environments, because having a visual record of mechanical defects is particularly useful in failure analysis. The images facilitate comparison of good and failed bonds and are readily transmitted by e-mail. Captured images can also prove to be a useful training aid, enabling operators to more easily familiarize themselves with particular failure types and mechanisms. The bond tester features standard func-tions such as operator-friendly design, quick-release frictionless load cartridges and enhanced frame rigidity, in order to contribute to wire pull, tweezer pull/peel, ball shear and die shear test operations.
