The Vulkan VE0006 provides a low-cost, easy-to-use solution for the testing of light sources in the visible spectrum and is, for example, used for the final check of LEDs. In contrast to common colour sensors, it is not the reflected light of an internal reference source that is measured, but the light emitted from the LED itself. This light is coupled via flexible fibre-optics, providing the opportunity to test up to five different LEDs in one stroke. Influences created by ambient light can be compensated for. All parameters are stored permanently in the tester. The color of a light is assessed irrespectively of its intensity. Tolerances can be set for every single color sector and intensity. The flexible fibre-optic cables and various interfaces in addition to its small size enable the unit to be integrated in-to almost every existing test system.
