Universal Instruments‘ Radial 8XT is an enhanced version of the predecessor Radial 8 dual and triple span through hole sequencer/inserter that provides an increased speedof up to 20,000cph (0.18s/insertion), features 180° head rotation for flexibility, and a servo component transfer assembly (CTA) capability for improved reliability. It’s now easy to switch polarity by rotating the component by 180° at the insertion head. This ability saves sequencer stations by allowing polarized components to be loaded on only one head. The CTA transports components from the carrier clips to the insertion tooling, providing higher reliability and longer life with servo-driven lead-screw design than the previous pneumatic mechanism. In addition, the servo CTA has fewer adjustments and parts. These enhancements are available on both the dual and triple span (2.5/5.0/ 7.5mm) machines that are available with manual and automated board handling or with loader/unloader.
