The Dage digital X-ray inspection system, XiDAT, provides improved digital data processing, enhanced resolution, extensive greyscale definition and the Image Wizard operating system. The instrument acquires images with a resolution of 1.3m pixels and over 65,000 levels of greyscale – four times the number of analoge systems. This provides the detection of very small differences in the level of grey and in exposing problem areas. This ability allows identification and analysis of much larger images with increased levels of detail, resulting in increased inspection throughput. This resolution is available at 25 frames per second, and image enhancement can be achieved using a range of digital processing techniques. The system passes the digital imaging information directly to the host PC, passing it directly to the high-res monitor, eliminating all analoge paths. Images are viewed this way in real-time with zero conversions and zero loss of resolution. The operating software offers better refinement to this simple-to-use X-ray system.
