GFIE and GIXEL (French industry associations) will organize their annual convention, covering the various aspects of environmental protection in components and electronics manufacturing. The Electronics Environment in Europe (EEE 2002) will be held in Paris on June 20 2002, and will focus on base materials substitutes, equipment and processes, in view of legal regulations. The following topics have been selected: European regulations; what’s new in US and Germany; waste collection – legal aspects; lead free: main substitute alloys and patents; reliability; how to manage the lead-free transition; im-pact of temperature increase on equipment and components; production manager’s view; test and inspection methods; bromides banishment; roadmap: main steps to comply with regulation; industry and environment concerns in general.
