Germany-based provider of test systems for mixed-signal devices, SZ Testsysteme, is in 2002 once again among the top three of the worldwide ten best suppliers of such equipment. VLSI Research in San Jose, California, assesses customer approval every year, and has rated the 500-people enterprise in the best list for the past four years. The company received its top marks this year in the categories of uptime, usable throughput, quality of results and support after sales. Nevertheless, as with other equipment suppliers, the stock exchange takes no notice of this euphemism: in the last 18 months, the share price has collapsed from about euro 25 to a mere penny-stock paper.
