Diadrive 2000 is a circuit board prototyping concept by Mutronic which works with only a single tool. This reduces the costs for the mechanical design of the machine as well as for other issues. Software calculates a circle routine for all drill-holes with a diameter of more than 0.6mm, and mills them out in a helix-shaped spiral. Owing to the fact that it is no longer necessary to change tools and no changer is needed, many partial periods for clamping and removing different tools are eliminated. The system has a portal structure and is multifunctional since the standard 3D control also facilitates mechanical milling. As a result, a user can not only manufacture circuit boards but also drill casings and engrave front plates, and, by a retrofitted dosing device, also glue and paste dots can be dispensed.
