Ismeca has introduced the Power 12K handling platform, optimized for the requirements of a wide range of power devices, including the provision of robust test contacts. Based upon the NT16-machine architecture, the system includes highly reliable clamping and contacting mechanisms to meet the requirements of power MOSFETs, including the demanding low Rds(on) and avalanche energy verifications. Power 12K is able to deliver sustained throughput rates of up to 12,000 devices per hour with test times of 200ms. It integrates all backend steps, including input from a trim-and-form machine or tube loader, followed by test, laser marking, 3D vision inspection, mold inspection and output to tape-and-reel or tubes. The system is capable of handling a wide range of devices, including TO-220, D2, D, and I-Pack and many others. It can be used with various vision systems, providing high accuracy for lead compliance or mold quality, respectively, and can detect small integrity defects on devices. Programming and control functions are implemented in an NT environment. The large degree of integration on the compact platform (footprint only 1.6 x 1.7m), saves floor space, while maximizing efficiency and throughput. Ismeca also offers turnkey solutions in conjunction with ipTEST’s Mostrak system, to enable device manufacturers to move immediately into full operation, without needing to integrate separate test equipment.
