Vitronics Soltec has announced the integration of software that automates rapid oven setup and optimization. The standard software capability is developed specifically for the company by KIC. It will be available in oven models as a standard feature. The Autoset allows users to enter the length, width, and weight of a new PCB or product, and the software automatically identifies the most appropriate oven recipe for that specific application. While Vitronics Soltec’s reflow ovens can be fine-tuned with billions of alternative oven recipes, the Autoset feature analyzes all of them to select the most optimum in a few seconds, before running a single profile. This automatic oven setup system significantly improves electronics manufacturers’ productivity by reducing production downtime. Customers will be able to start an in-spec production quickly rather than spending downtime tweaking the oven.
Both technology partners have worked together to develop a unique user interface as well as a database of profiles and product types that the Autoset uses to achieve its extraordinary setup speed and accuracy. This is made possible by Vitronics Soltec’s manufacturing expertise that ensures identical thermal dynamics characteristics within each oven model.
