Rohde & Schwarz has implemented the American GSM 850 mobile radio standard on its protocol tester CRTU-G and the associated RF test system TS8950G. Both solutions are designed for the development and conformance testing of mobile telephones and can easily be upgraded. These platforms provide all the test cases developed by 3GPP for GSM and GPRS conformance testing. Thanks to the wide selectable frequency range from 10MHz to 2.7GHz, the test cases can also be implemented for GSM 850, and this provides the basis for expansion to other frequency bands. The CRTU-G analyzes the protocol layers through to the application layer. A programming interface enables the user to modify the test cases and create customized scenarios. TS8950G is an integrated one-stop, all-in-one solution for protocol and RF testing. A graphical user interface allows easy modification of parameters and the development of cases. Standardized interfaces and the Lab Windows CVI programming language ensure easy integration.
