With the National Instruments‘ 3U chassis PXI-1006, engineers can integrate up to 18 PXI/ CompactPCI modules. The chassis incorporates an 18-slot PXI backplane, a removable 600W power supply and three 130CFM fans. It has an advanced cooling design, extended star trigger bus and an autosensing 10MHz clock to ensure synchronization among all peripheral slots. With two PXI-to-PXI bridges, the backplane extends both the PXIbus and the timing and trig-gering signals to all 18 slots while maintaining the full 132Mbytes/s bandwidth.
